Abstract

Anthropogenic emissions especially from fossil fuels has intensified atmospheric carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases leading to global warming, altered precipitation, and more extreme weather events. Agriculture faces challenges due to these changes in both yield and nutritional quality of the crops such as rice, wheat, fruits and vegetables which contribute significantly to our diet. This article aims at compiling the various research done towards understanding these changes and their effect on existing staple crops, livestock and hence ultimately their effect on public health.

Keywords: climate change, crop yield, crop nutrients, micronutrient deficiency, public health
