Aims & Scope 

Journal of Medical Food and Nutrition

The Journal of Medical Food and Nutrition (JMN) is a peer-reviewed, open-access, biannual journal dedicated to advancing knowledge at the intersection of food science, nutrition, and human health.  official journal of the International Society for Medical Food and Nutrition (ISMN), the journal serves as a global platform for scientists, clinicians, dietitians, policymakers, and industry professionals to share innovative research and practical applications in the field of medical foods and nutrition therapy.

Aim

Our primary aim is to disseminate high-quality, evidence-based research that promotes understanding of how diet, functional foods, nutraceuticals, and dietary interventions can prevent, manage, or treat disease, and improve overall human health and well-being.

Scope

The journal welcomes original research articles, review papers, clinical studies, short communications, case reports, and commentaries related to, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • Medical foods & nutraceuticals – formulation, safety, efficacy, and clinical use.

  • Functional foods & bioactive compounds – discovery, development, and health benefits.

  • Nutrition in disease prevention and management – including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, obesity, metabolic disorders, and gastrointestinal health.

  • Dietary patterns & public health nutrition – interventions, policies, and community-based approaches.

  • Food science & technology – processing, preservation, and bioavailability of nutrients.

  • Nutritional biochemistry & metabolism – molecular and physiological pathways.

  • Nutrigenomics & personalized nutrition – genetic influences on nutrient needs and disease risk.

  • Regulatory, safety, and ethical aspects of medical food and nutrition products.

Audience

JMN is intended for researchers, healthcare professionals, nutritionists, dietitians, food scientists, policymakers, and students who are engaged in the field of clinical and functional nutrition.

We adhere to the highest ethical publishing standards and follow the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All submissions undergo rigorous peer review by subject experts to ensure accuracy, originality, and scientific merit.
