Only works that are original, fit within the aforementioned scope and have undergone peer review before publication will be considered for publication. The manuscript must be new and original, not under consideration for publication elsewhere, according to the cover letters. Co-authors ought to be people who made a significant contribution to the papers' substance. All writers are required to disclose all financial sources and potential conflicts of interest.
The Journal of Medical Food and Nutrition (JMN) welcomes original research, reviews, short communications, clinical case reports, and commentary articles in the field of medical foods, nutrition science, and related health disciplines. All submissions must be prepared according to the following guidelines.

1. Manuscript Categories
We accept the following types of submissions:
Original Research Articles – Detailed studies presenting novel findings (3,000–6,000 words).
Review Articles – Comprehensive, critical summaries of the literature (4,000–8,000 words).
Short Communications – Brief reports of new data or pilot studies (up to 2,000 words).
Case Reports – Clinically relevant single or series case descriptions (up to 2,500 words).
Commentaries / Letters to the Editor – Opinion pieces or responses to published work (500–1,500 words).

2. General Submission Requirements
Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.
All submissions should be in English.
Follow ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) recommendations.
Adhere to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines for research and publication ethics.
All research involving humans or animals must have appropriate ethical clearance.

3. Manuscript Structure
Title Page
Title (concise and informative)
Author names and affiliations
Corresponding author details (email, phone, postal address)
ORCID iD (if available)
Acknowledgements (funding, institutional support, etc.)
Abstract & Keywords
Abstract: 150–250 words, structured (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion) for research papers.
Keywords: 4–6 relevant keywords (MeSH terms recommended).
Main Text
For original research articles, use the IMRaD format:
Introduction
Materials and Methods
Results
Discussion
Conclusion
For reviews, use appropriate thematic sections.
References
Use Vancouver style or APA style (journal may choose one consistently).
Ensure that all references are complete and accurate.

4. Figures & Tables
Submit figures in high resolution (300 dpi minimum) in JPEG, PNG, or TIFF format.
Tables should be editable and placed at the end of the manuscript or embedded after first mention in text.
Each figure and table must have a descriptive title and legend.

5. Formatting
Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, double-spaced.
Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides.
File type: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx).
6. Ethical and Legal Considerations
Plagiarism: Submissions will be screened with plagiarism detection software; similarity index must be below 15%.
Human/Animal Studies: Include statement on ethics committee approval and informed consent.
Conflict of Interest: Authors must declare any financial or personal relationships that could influence the work.
Data Availability: Where applicable, authors should state how and where data supporting the results can be accessed.

7. Licensing & Copyright
JMN is an open access journal.
All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction, provided the original work is properly cited.
Authors retain copyright.

8. Submission Process

Ensure that all required files (manuscript, figures, supplementary material) are included.
A confirmation email will be sent upon receipt.

9. Publication Charges
JMN currently charges no article Publication fees for accepted manuscripts.
If fees are introduced in the future, authors will be informed prior to publication.

10. Peer Review Process
All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts.
The average review time is 4–6 weeks.
Decisions will be Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.
