Open Access & Licensing Policy –

Journal of Medical Food and Nutrition (JMN)

The Journal of Medical Food and Nutrition (JMN) is committed to the free and global dissemination of scientific knowledge. We believe that open access to research benefits authors, readers, and society as a whole.

1. Open Access Statement

  • The Journal of Medical Food and Nutrition is a fully Open Access journal.

  • All articles are immediately and permanently available online without subscription or registration.

  • Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, or reuse the full text of articles under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Every manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening to assess scope, originality, ethical compliance, and formatting.

Suitable manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers under a double-blind peer-review process.

Reviewers evaluate scientific quality, novelty, methodology, statistical analysis, ethical compliance, clarity of presentation, and relevance to the journal.

Based on reviewer recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes one of the following decisions:

• Accept

• Minor Revision

• Major Revision

• Reject

The average review time is approximately 4–6 weeks.

2. Licensing Terms

  • All articles in JMN are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.

  • What this means:

    • You may share (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format)

    • You may adapt (remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially)

    • You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.

3. Copyright Policy

  • Copyright © Journal of Medical Food and Nutrition (JMN).

  • Authors retain the copyright of their published work.

  • Upon acceptance, authors grant the Journal of Medical Food and Nutrition a non-exclusive license to publish and distribute the article.

  • All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.

  • This license permits anyone to copy, distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the work for any purpose, including commercial use, provided appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and the source.

4. Archiving and Preservation

  • All articles are archived in the journal’s online repository and may be deposited in institutional or subject-based repositories without embargo.

  • Authors are encouraged to self-archive the published PDF version on personal websites, institutional repositories, and scholarly networks.

5. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

  • he Journal of Medical Food and Nutrition (JMN) is a fully Open Access journal. To support the costs associated with editorial management and publication, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is applicable only for manuscripts that have been accepted after successful peer review.

  • International Authors: USD 150 per accepted article
    Indian Authors: ₹12,500 (INR) per accepted article (Effective from 15 July 2026)

  • No submission fee. The APC is payable only after acceptance of the manuscript. Payment of the APC has no influence on editorial decisions, peer review, or publication acceptance.

  • What the APC Covers

  • The APC supports high-quality scholarly publishing, including:

  • Double-blind peer review

  • Editorial and production services

  • Copyediting and typesetting

  • DOI registration and metadata management

  • Online publication and website maintenance

  • Digital preservation and long-term archiving

  • Indexing preparation and journal operations

  • APC Waiver Policy

  • Full or partial APC waivers may be granted in exceptional cases, including authors from low-income countries or those facing genuine financial hardship. Waiver requests are considered individually and must be submitted before payment.

        Editorial Independence

  • The Journal of Medical Food and Nutrition maintains complete editorial independence. Editorial decisions are based solely on the scientific quality, originality, ethical standards, and relevance of the manuscript. Payment of the APC has no influence on the peer-review process or publication decision.
