Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement – Journal of Medical Food and Nutrition (JMN)
The Journal of Medical Food and Nutrition (JMN) is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing. Our policies follow the principles outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and other international guidelines.

1. Responsibilities of Editors
-
Fair and Impartial Decisions: Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic merit, without regard to the authors’ race, gender, nationality, religious belief, or institutional affiliation.
-
Confidentiality: Editors must not disclose information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and editorial staff.
-
Conflict of Interest: Editors must not handle manuscripts in which they have competing interests.
-
Publication Decisions: The Editor-in-Chief has the final responsibility for deciding which manuscripts are published, based on reviewer recommendations, originality, and relevance.
-

2. Responsibilities of Authors
-
Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must submit original works. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable. All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software, and manuscripts with a similarity index above 15% may be rejected.
-
Multiple or Redundant Publication: Authors must not submit the same work to more than one journal at the same time.
-
Authorship Criteria: All listed authors must have made a significant contribution to the research and manuscript preparation.
-
Acknowledgement of Sources: Authors must properly cite all sources that influenced their work.
-
Ethics Approval: For research involving humans or animals, authors must provide details of ethics committee approval and informed consent.
-
Data Accuracy: Authors must ensure all data is accurate and available for verification upon request.
-

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers
-
Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents.
-
Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, without personal criticism of the author.
-
Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must decline review invitations if they have conflicts of interest.
-
Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers should alert the editor if they identify any unacknowledged sources or potential plagiarism.
-

4. Handling Misconduct
-
Plagiarism: If plagiarism is detected at any stage, the manuscript will be rejected or retracted.
-
Fabrication/Falsification of Data: Any evidence of fabricated or manipulated data will result in rejection and possible notification to the author’s institution.
-
Retraction Policy: Articles may be retracted for serious errors, ethical violations, or misconduct, with a clear retraction notice posted on the journal website.
-

5. Conflict of Interest and Funding Disclosure
-
Authors, reviewers, and editors must declare any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work.
-
All sources of funding must be disclosed in the manuscript.
-

6. Transparency and Accountability
