Abstract

Medical students, as future health professionals, are expected to possess adequate nutrition knowledge and adopt healthy dietary habits to effectively counsel patients. However, evidence suggests a gap between knowledge and practice among this group. This narrative review explores the current status of nutrition knowledge and dietary practices among medical students, highlights influencing factors, and discusses strategies for improvement. A systematic examination of international and regional literature was conducted, with emphasis on studies from developing countries, to draw comprehensive conclusions and implications
